Submission Guidelines

SUMMARY:
  • Audio peaks between -13 & -3 dBFS - never clipping or reaching full scale digital/0 dBFS
  • Bounce/render/capture in original sample rate & bit depth (preferred 24 bit) - no sample rate conversion or dither
  • Avoid master bus processors such as limiters unless intrinsic to your sound

IN DETAIL:

Colaudio accepts most digital audio formats (.wav, .aiff, dsf, dsd etc...).

Please provide the mix in it's native sample rate & bit depth - preferred that you bounce to or capture your mix in 24 bit & whatever sample rate the track was mixed at. 96 kHz is preferred but most common is 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz. Under no circumstances should the native sample rate be converted, just provide what you have been working with.  Also absolutely no bit depth reduction or dither should be applied.

It's best to have the peaks of the track between -13 minimum and maximum -3 dBFS. If your track is clipping the master bus then lower all tracks volume or the master fader before bounce/capture so peaks never exceed -3 dBFS

Remove all master bus processing unless it is intrinsic to the sound you have created or is a compressor that you have mixed into (even then a better master can be possible if you provide a mix buss compressor free version of the track and instead detail the compressor and settings used during mixing). If you are using a limiter on the master bus & you really like the sound it is adding it would be best to provide two versions of the mix - one with your desired sound from limiter and one without the limiter (but provide details & settings of the preferred limiter where possible).

ISRC, UPN/EAN codes should be entered into the description field that becomes available during upload.  These codes will be embedded in the provided mp3 master &/or DDP/master CD.

You will receive an email when you upload any audio to Colaudio. Please use the contact details in that email to convey your wishes for the master. By default Colaudio will provide a 44.1 kHz 16 bit .wav master along with 320 Kbps mp3 file - if you wish further files formats &/or sample rates/bit depths please email along with order.

If you are sure that your music meets the submission requirements above please REGISTER AN ACCOUNT to send your music.

TRANSFER SYSTEM MINI GUIDE:

  • Click "Upload" located top left then "Add files" to list or drag into upload window then click "Upload" button located bottom centre.
  • After files are uploaded please click continue, on the following page you will see a "Description" field where you will be able to add specific information to each track - please provide as much information as possible here to ensure you get the results you desire.  For albums you can copy and paste if all tracks follow the same desired aesthetic.
  • If your master is not visible please click "View my files" at the top left of the page as clicking "Manage Files" only displays files you have uploaded, not the masters uploaded by Colaudio.
  • If transfer system is unresponsive it could mean the servers are busy - please retry later.
  • PLEASE NOTE YOUR FILES ARE HELD ON THE SERVER FOR A LIMITED AMOUNT OF TIME (2 MONTHS).  IF THEY ARE NOT DOWNLOADED BEFORE EXPIRY DATE YOU WILL HAVE TO REQUEST RE-UPLOAD VIA EMAIL.
  • ALL MASTERS ARE ARCHIVED IN THEIR HIGHEST RESOLUTION FOR FOR 12 MONTHS FROM CLIENT DOWNLOAD - THIS CAN BE EXTENDED INDEFINITELY AT COST.

INDIVIDUAL FILE SIZE LIMIT IS 2gb

There is an individual file size limit of 2gb for each separate track, per upload session. There is no limit to the number of tracks, or the total size of each upload session.  This means that even a full album of tracks at 192kHz 24bit resolution can be transferred.
If a single track exceeds 2GB it can be split into a multiple volume archive using archive software such as Winrar or even manually split & saved into parts.

If you are having trouble with our own transfer system please try WeTransfer (enter service@colaudio.net for our email address)  WeTransfer is free, allows upto 2gb per file, reliable & highly recommended.  Alternatively please contact for other transfer methods.

ALL TRANSFERS WITH COLAUDIO ARE 256-BIT, 2048 ROOT SSL ENCRYPTED FOR YOUR SECURITY.
